  This romantic, faded pink chateau sits on an outcrop in the middle of a lake.  It got its name ("Red Lhota") in 1641 due to its innovative, bright-red roof tiles.  The 14th century Gothic fortress was rebuild into a Renaissance castle that was later adapted in baroque style.  In the second half of the 18th century the jovially-named German composer Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf lived here.  Cervena Lhota makes an excellent day trip from Jindrichuv Hradec or Sobeslav, each about half an hour away by four daily buses (weekend transport sporadic).
