Balloonatics Theatre Company has provided theatre based on Ulysses in Dublin on Bloomsday for the last twenty-five years. The company strives to animates Joyce's work by matching the text with the actual locations in Dublin where the work is set. Paul O'Hanrahan, who directs the company, has won two Edinburgh Fringe Firsts for his adaptations from Joyce: in 1983, for "Circe" from Ulysses with the Cambridge University Mummers and in 1990 with Donal O'Kelly and the Dublin Theatre Festival for The Wake from Finnegans Wake.
